Trades Assistant

A well-established industrial equipment business in Western Australia is seeking a dependable Workshop Trades Assistant to join its growing team.

This opportunity is ideal for practical candidates who can demonstrate their work history, technical ability and genuine interest in developing a career in the workshop environment. The role involves supporting experienced tradespeople working with electric motors, pumps, generators and rotating equipment.

• Assist tradespeople with workshop repair and maintenance activities
• Move motors, pumps and other industrial equipment safely
• Assist with dismantling and preparation of equipment under supervision
• Load and unload equipment and materials
• Prepare completed jobs for dispatch
• Assist with pallets, packing and workshop logistics
• Complete local equipment pickups and deliveries
• Clean, prepare and organise workshop components
• Use hand tools and workshop equipment safely
• Maintain workshop cleanliness and organisation
• Follow safety procedures and workplace instructions
• Develop practical knowledge of motors, pumps and rotating equipment

• Demonstrated practical or mechanical ability
• Relevant workshop, maintenance, electrical, pump, mining or Trades Assistant experience is advantageous
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
• Comfortable working with tools and performing hands-on tasks
• Able to follow technical instructions accurately
• Able to work independently and within a team
• Safety-conscious approach to workshop duties
• Manual driver's licence
• Forklift licence advantageous
• Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills
