Warehouse Team Leader

Join a leading food manufacturing business in Waikato, New Zealand, offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, extensive forklift operating experience, and a background in warehouse operations within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.

You will be responsible for leading the warehouse team during night shift operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods, maintaining high safety standards, and meeting daily operational targets.

• Lead and supervise warehouse operations during the assigned night shift
• Ensure daily shift targets and operational requirements are achieved
• Safely load and unload trucks
• Operate forklifts for bulk stacking and warehouse movements
• Stack pallets safely at height within warehouse storage systems
• Pick and prepare orders accurately according to warehouse documentation
• Inspect incoming and outgoing goods for damage
• Maintain accurate stock handling and inventory processes
• Monitor warehouse equipment and report maintenance requirements
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse environment
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety policies
• Support and motivate team members to achieve operational goals
• Use warehouse computer systems and mobile equipment where required
• Communicate effectively with internal departments and transport providers

• Previous experience as a Warehouse Team Leader or Supervisor is essential
• Current forklift licence is essential
• Proven experience operating 3.5–5.5 tonne forklifts
• Strong bulk stacking experience at height is essential
• Previous warehouse experience within food manufacturing or FMCG is preferred
• Container loading and unloading experience is advantageous
• MPI accreditation is advantageous
• Experience using warehouse computer systems and mounted terminal units
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills in English
• High attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Reliable, physically fit and able to work permanent night shifts
• Ability to work well within a team environment
